Roseberry Topping Paintings
After the charity match and a couple of sales I found I had no large Roseberry Topping paintings left so I set to last week and came up with these two. The larger of the two has a very dramatic sky and the second a rather unusual panoramic view of the famous landmark. It never ceases to amaze me how much Roseberry Topping can change with each piece I do.
I have now opened a Roseberry Topping gallery on the website to make it easier to view all the paintings we currently have for sale

Yarm Gala, Sunday June 20th
Following the fantastic success of last year’s Yarm Gala this year’s event promises to be just as much fun with even more entertainment for the whole family. Last year, Yarm Town Council held the second traditional gala for almost a century and attracted over 4000 people on the day which enjoyed superb weather. This year’s event will take place on Sunday June 20th and, as well as celebrating Yarm’s history and heritage as a thriving port, will also showcase the extensive range of shopping, leisure and business opportunities the small town has to offer. The Gala will once again have a live music stage, Victorian funfair, bellboat competition, hog roast, crepes, street entertainers and Lions Charities Fair, this year’s gala will also feature a boat parade, steam boat rides, a local produce market, dancers, a ‘Yarm’s got Talent’ competition and face painting. Live music will continue in many of Yarm’s pubs in the evening and more events will be announced in the run up to the event itself in June.
Yarm Town Council is organising the gala which will take place along the High Street, on the River Tees and at various locations in the town. The town hall will also be open for people to visit and find out more about the history of the town.

For more information about the gala please visit www.yarmgala.co.uk

FMTTM Sir Bobby Robson Foundation Charity Football Match
Yarm Originals are happy to announce that the above event will take place at the Riverside Football Stadium on Sunday the 16th of May. Last year a charity football match was organised by a group of Boro fans for the Bobby Robson Foundation. It proved to be a great success and spurred on by its popularity they have decided to do it all over again this year. The difference this time is they are hosting the event at the Riverside Stadium.
The event kicks off at 2pm with a great afternoon of entertainment for all the family followed by an evening of food, auctions and live music in the Riverside Suite. .
For more information please visit the fmttm website or to make a donation please go to the Bobby Robson Foundation website http://www.sirbobbyrobsonfoundation.org.uk/
Yarm Originals have donated "Roseberry Memories" an original painting, to the auction and hope it brings in lots of money for this worthy cause.
Eaglescliffe artist Bryan Wilkinson has also donated an original painting to the auction. "Slow Down Son" shows a young child going to his first football match. Prints of this painting are now available in the Guest Gallery/Various Artists section on this site. Thank you Bryan for your generous donation.

UPDATE: ALL OF THE ARTWORK IN THE AUCTION RAISED A TOTAL OF £1030 AND HAS BEEN PAID INTO THE JUST GIVING SITE. A FANTASTIC RESPONSE FROM ALL CONCERNED. MANY THANKS TO ALL WHO BID AND WON THE PIECES OF ART.

Mackenzie Thorpe - exciting news for Middlesbrough
Yarm Originals have heard that a Mackenzie Thorpe exhibition is to take place in the Capt Cook Birthplace Museum in Marton. A special exhibition commemorating Marton's most famous son, James Cook. Entitled "One Man's Journey" - it begins on April 17th through to the 30th August

UPDATE: I WENT ALONG TO AN INFOMAL PREVIEW OF THIS EXHIBITION LAST NIGHT AND HAVE TO SAY IT WAS WORTH EVERY MINUTE SPENT THERE. MACKENZIE THORPE IS JUST A NORMAL MAN WITH NO AIRS OR GRACES AND YET HAS A PRESENCE THAT MAKES YOU STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND WATCH HIM. HIS SPEECH REDUCED A FEW PEOPLE TO TEARS AND YOU CANNOT BUT ADMIRE HIM FOR HIS PASSION AND DEDICATION TO HIS ART. IT WAS A PLEASURE TO BE A SMALL PART OF THAT ONE MAN'S JOURNEY LAST NIGHT

Yarm Originals celebrates its first birthday
On March 22nd 2009 Yarm Originals opened its virtual doors to the public and what a year it has been. With almost 8000 visitors we think we can say it has been a popular art site. Several artists and photographers have shown their work and hopefully it has given them a start in their artistic careers.
We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of this new venture over the past year and we are looking forward to meeting more artists and visitors in the coming year.

Margaret Hall
Sadly one of the members of my art group passed away last week after a short illness. I just wanted to say how much we are going to miss her. She was one of those people that everyone seemed to like and we were all amazed at how brave she was when she told of her illness.
She had a great sense of humour and rolled her sleeves up and got on with anything she was asked to do. She loved bright colours and painting butterflies and I will always remember her as a butterfly who flew into my life.
Thank you for the Bluebell walk Margaret and the encouragement and support you gave me
